Caring for Woma Python

Enclosure
An adult Woma Python’s average size is about 6 feet to 8 feet. So the enclosure must be big enough to not only house the Python but also spacious enough for free air circulation. The enclosure should have a glass top or screen lid at the top so that it does not escape.
Moreover, make provision of two hides within the enclosure, one with a hot end and the other one with a cool end. Place a heavy weight water bowl inside the enclosure too. Change the water every week or before in case it gives a foul smell. Disinfect the bowl too regularly.
Lighting and Temperature
The Woma Python does not have any special need as far as lighting is concerned. However, if you want, you can use a fluorescent light bulb inside the enclosure. However, you will need to make provisions for keeping the enclosures warm and at a right temperature. The temperature should be anywhere between 28 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius. There are lots of equipments available in the market that can be used for heating. Nevertheless, make sure all these heating devices are either covered or out of reach from the Woma Python as coming in contact with them could result into serious burns. To monitor the temperature inside the terrarium, use a good-quality thermostat.
Substrates
Among suitable substrates for snakes, Aspen can be considered as the best. Avoid using shavings of cedar or pine, as these are toxic for snakes. One may also consider the use of paper towels or newspapers as a substrate. Some people besides keep a big bowl of water so that the snake can submerse itself in it.
Feeding
Woma Python are carnivorous. They are aggressive while they are being fed. So pet care must be done with extra caution and needs to be exercised while feeding them. Feed him with fuzzies, if it is young. Adult Womas can be given rat pinkies. Increase the size of the prey items as the Woma Python grows. You can feed him on adult rats or frozen thawed rodents. For old Python, feed him once with a sufficient sized meal in two weeks to avoid him becoming overweight. One need to be cautious while feeding that the Womas do not ingest any substrate as it could harm them internally. Pet sitters who have experience in doing pet care job for a Woma Python should be hired for the job.
Reproduction
These are oviparous. Female Womas lays about 6 to 20 eggs at a time depending upon specie to specie. Many people get their Womas sexed, but this has to be done under the supervision of a professional only.
